Consultant Biography

Mr Jae Rhee

Mr Jae Rhee qualified from Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2003. Following completion of his surgical training in Middlesex & UCL Hospitals, he undertook postgraduate orthopaedic training on the reputable Oswestry Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt programme. Following the award of FRCS in 2012, he further pursued Shoulder Fellowship training in London. Mr Rhee has expanded his expertise further by undertaking additional Hand & Upper Limb Fellowship training at the Hand & Wrist Unit in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, as well as being awarded the EFORT fellowship where he spent time at the internationally renowned Karolinska Sports Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder & Upper Limb Surgeon at the Princess Royal Hospital in the West Midlands, where he undertakes elective & emergency surgery for all aspects of Shoulder, Elbow and Hand disorders. He has particularly developed a specialist interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

Mr Jae Rhee finds research and training equally important. He has published widely including several contributions to textbooks of Orthopaedic Surgery, and reviews scientific articles for the ‘Bone and Joint Journal’. He is a regular faculty and examiner on regional and national courses, as well as lecturing MSc students at the Institute of Sports Exercise and Health at University College London.
